Henna has been a popular technique used for body art and hair dyeing for many years.  Made from a natural plant-based dye derived from the Lawsonia Inermis plant, henna is now gaining notoriety as a semi-permanent eyebrow tinting treatment.

Henna Brows involve applying a paste made from henna and water to the eyebrows using a brush or applicator, shaping and filling in the brows to achieve the desired look, and then allowing it to dry for about  20 to 30 minutes.

The longer the henna is left on the brows, the darker the color will be. After the appropriate amount of processing time, the henna is removed, revealing beautifully tinted eyebrows. The resulting color can last anywhere from one to three weeks, depending on individual factors such as skin type, exposure to water, and daily cleansing routines.

Henna Brows are becoming increasingly popular because they are very natural-looking. Not only do they provide a tint to the brows, but they enhance their shape and fullness. Henna is a great option for people with sparse or light-colored eyebrows who want a semi-permanent solution to define and darken their brows.

Rapidly becoming a cult favorite, henna brows are one of the hottest brow treatmets on social media. An affordable, convenient, and natural alternative to traditional brow coloring, Henna brows are non-toxic, organic, and plant-based henna contains no harsh chemicals, making it ideal for younger customers and those with allergies or sensitive skin.

What is Henna?

Henna, a natural extract found in the henna plant, has been used for centuries, dating back to the ancient Egyptian era when it was used as an ornamental dye for hair and nails.

Henna brows work by casting a shadow that creates an illusion that the brow area is much more profound and fuller. This makes for an effective treatment for anyone with sparse or thin brows.

And because henna is  a natural plant dye, it does not involve the use of bleach, ammonia, or any other potentially hazardous chemicals, making it one of the safest brow treatments for the delicate eye area.

How Henna Brow Treatments Work, Step-by-Step

1. Patch Test

Initially, the brow expert will perform a patch test to make sure you don’t have any skin conditions, sensitivities, or have an allergic reaction to the henna product.

2. Clean the Skin

After passing the patch test, the next step is cleaning any make-up, dead skin cells, and excessive oils from the skin around and beneath the brow. It is critical to clean the skin beneath the brows before application because the cleaner the skin, the better the results and the longer the effect will last.

3. Shape the Eyebrows

There are several techniques that can be used during this step including threading, plucking, and waxing.  To achieve a precise, outlined edge, the brow expert will apply a white paste around the brow shape to prevent any leakage.

4. Choose a Shade

A brow expert will help you choose a shade depending on preference and skin color. Because some colors develop differently on different skin types, it’s recommended that first-timers start off with a darker shade.

5. Prepare the Henna Solution

Once you have decided on a color, the brow expert mixes the henna powder with water to form a paste.

6. Apply the Henna Solution

Next, the brow expert will apply the henna paste using a special kind of brush to ensure that the dye is evenly distributed across the brows and the skin beneath the brow hairs. The henna is allowed to sit for about 20 minutes. When it’s finished, the brows are wiped clean.

How To Maintain Henna Brows

To keep henna brows intact for the longest time possible, it’s important to follow these aftercare tips for the first 24 hours.

  • Avoid using make-up removers.
  • Refrain from rubbing the brow area.
  • Avoid warm facial cleansing and steam facials.
  • Do not expose your brows to the sun’s rays.
  • Avoid swimming.

Benefits of Henna Brows

Although henna brows aren’t  for everyone, this treatment is an excellent solution for people who struggle with designing and filling in their brows as it provides a good base form.

Henna brows are especially perfect for clients who have sparse, very thin,  or non-existent brow hair.

More Benefits of Henna Brows

All-Natural: Henna is a natural vegan product that doesn’t contain any bleach, chemicals, or ammonia, making it an ideal choice for clients with sensitive skin or allergies.

Highly Effective: Henna fills in gaps and covers gray hairs.

Fast Application Process: The henna brow treatment is simple and quick.  Unlike henna tattoos, which require several hours for the dye to stick, with henna brows, the effect happens in under a half hour.

Durable: Henna brows are long-lasting, with results lasting up to six weeks, almost twice as long as traditional eyebrow tint.

Several Varieties: There is a myth that henna brows will turn the eyebrow hairs red. But by adding pigments to the henna, there is a wide array of shades to choose from, ranging from blonde to dark brown. This means you can select a color shade according to your skin tone, hair color, or preference.

No Commitment: Henna can be used to try out new brow shapes and shades before going forward with a semi-permanent process.

If you feel like the shape doesn’t work for you, you only have to wait a few weeks and then you can switch shapes and shades easily.

Enhanced Appearance: With henna brows, your eyebrows will look denser and thicker, perfect for anyone with thin, sparse, or blonde brows.  Henna is also an excellent option for clients with tattoo brows that have faded.

How Often Can You Henna Your Brows?

Henna brows typically leave a mark on the skin for seven to fourteen days, and the dye on the brows lasts 6-8 weeks, which is substantially longer than standard tints, which only last a month.

How long the henna stain lasts depends on the type of skin you have. Clients with  oily skin will likely need to repeat the process more frequently as henna products generally don’t mix well with oil. To resolve this, the brow expert will make sure your brows are cleaned thoroughly but if your skin is very oily, the henna tint won’t likely last as long as it will for clients with normal or dry skin.

Are Henna Brows Right for Me?

One of the most exciting things about henna brows is that they are appropriate for anyone. A patch service test will determine whether the henna brow treatment is right for you. People associate henna with red hair but the pigments that are mixed in with the henna allow the treatment to create a variety of shades. So whether you’re a blonde brunette or yes, even a redhead, henna will help not only fill in your sparse areas, but darken your brows to whatever shade you choose.

Who Should Not Have a Henna Brow Treatment?

  • If your patch test shows redness, soreness, or bumps, henna products may not be for you.
  • If there are signs of infection or eczema, you should not use henna products.
  • If there are scabs or cuts on the brow area, you should wait until the open sores clear before your henna brow treatment.
  • If you have a history of allergic reactions to henna products, do not use the product on your skin. Instead, try another brow treatment such as brow lamination.

Finally getting the attention they deserve, eyebrows are becoming the star of so many shows across social media. But with all of the options available these days, it’s tough to choose the treatment that’s right for you.

Henna Brow and microblade treatments are both effective and popular cosmetic procedures for enhancing the appearance of eyebrows. Though they have certain similarities,  they are quite different in terms of their methods,  longevity, and cost.

Microblading is a semi-permanent brow treatment. Similar to a tattoo, micro blading delivers a polished and gloss-like look, whereas henna brows are more like a stain with a more matte or powdery finish. Microbladed brows can last up to 12 months while henna brows lasts for about 6 weeks. Henna Brows are a great option for anyone looking to enhance the appearance of their eyebrows without the commitment of a more invasive or permanent procedure. If you’re looking for something that will look more natural over time, henna eyebrows may be the better option for you.

Henna Brow Process

The henna brow process typically involves 6 steps:

1. Patch Test

Initially, the brow expert will perform a patch test to make sure you don’t have a sensitivity to the henna product on the skin beneath the brow area.

2. Clean the Skin

After passing the patch test, the next step is cleaning any make-up, dead skin, and excessive oils around and beneath the brow hair. The cleaner the skin, the better the results and the longer the effect will last.

3. Shape the Eyebrows

There are several techniques that can be used during this step including threading, plucking, and waxing.  To achieve a precise, outlined edge, the brow expert will apply a white paste around the brow shape to prevent any leakage.

4. Choose a Shade

Henna brows sometimes get a bad rap because they are associate with the colour red. Henna brows are different than henna tints or tattoos. Just like brow makeup, brow lamination, or tinting, henna brows can be formulated to create the exact color you prefer from blonde to black and every shade in between. Henna brows actually have a cool color tone and do not look red (unless that’s the shade you’d like!)

Before the treatment begins, your brow expert will discuss the best shade for you depending on the client’s preference and skin tone. Because some colors develop differently on different skin types, it’s recommended that first-timers start with a slightly darker shade.

5. Prepare the Henna Solution

Once you have decided on a colour, the brow expert mixes the henna powder with water to form a paste.

6. Apply the Henna Solution

Before applying the solution, the brow expert will apply a barrier cream to outline the desired shape. Then the henna paste is applied and allowed to sit for about 20 minutes.

What are the Pros and Cons of Henna Brows?

Pros of Henna Brows

Enhanced appearance: Henna brows can give eyebrows a fuller, thicker, darker, and more defined look. It can also help eyebrows to appear more symmetrical and even.

Longevity:  Henna brows can last up to six weeks  depending on the individual’s skin type, skin color, and hair growth cycle.

Low maintenance: Henna brows require minimal upkeep when compared to other eyebrow treatments.

Time-saving: A henna brow treatment can make your morning routine easier because you don’t have to worry about constantly fixing or touching up your eyebrows.

Non-invasive: Henna brows are a non-invasive, chemical-free  procedure, requiring no knives or needles. This makes it a safer and less painful alternative to microblading or other permanent makeup techniques.

Painless: Since no cutting or injections are involved, a henna brow treatment is completely pain-free .

Works on most brow types: Henna can be used on all types of eyebrows, including unruly brows, sparse, unruly, or asymmetrical brows. It can also help cover up bald spots, gray hairs, or gaps in the eyebrows. Folks with oily skin might experience fading faster than those with normal or dry skin.

Affordable : Henna brows are less expensive than microblading at the outset, though the treatment must be repeated more often.

While henna brows are a popular eyebrow enhancement technique, there are some potential cons to consider when comparing it to microblading.

Here are some of the cons of henna brows:

Cons of Henna Brow Treatment

Shorter lifespan: While henna brows can last up to six weeks or more, microblading can last for up to 18 months. This means you’ll have to get your brows tinted more frequently than if you had your brows microbladed.

Not as permanent: Henna brows are a temporary solution for eyebrow shaping and styling, while microblading is a semi-permanent technique.

Less precise: While henna brow treatments help darken, shape, and define the brows , it’s not as precise as microblading. With microblading, the technician can create precise hair-like strokes to fill in gaps and create a desired shape. Henna brows on the other hand, relies on the existing hair to achieve the desired shape.

May not work for everyone: Henna brows may not be suitable for people with very oily skin, as oil and water don’t mix and the henna solution is made with just water. Microblading, on the other hand, can help create the illusion of fuller, thicker eyebrows even for people with oily skin.

Slight risk of irritation: Because henna involves the use of a dye made from the henna plant, it might not be a good choice for people with sensitive skin.  A patch test will be performed prior to treatment.

Overall, the choice between henna brows and microblading depends on your personal preferences, skin type, lifestyle, and eyebrow goals. While henna tinting  is a great temporary solution for shaping, shading, and redefining your eyebrows, microblading may be a better option for those looking for a more permanent solution.

Microblading Treatment Overview

Microblading is a semi permanent treatment that involves creating hair-like strokes to mimic natural brow hairs. Microblading is a popular option for anyone looking to enhance the appearance of their eyebrows, those looking to create a more perfect eyebrow shape, or those who simply want to save time in their daily makeup routine.

Microblading Process

During the microblading process, a brow expert maps out the desired shape of the brows, taking into account the client’s natural brow shape and facial features. They then use a sterile, disposable microblading tool to create small, hair-like strokes in the skin’s uppermost epidermis layer using a specialized pigment. The pigment is deposited into the skin using the microblading tool, creating a natural-looking brow.

Though microblading is a longer lasting technique than other brow enhancement treatments like henna eyebrow tinting, tweezing, waxing and brow lamination, lasting up to two years, it requires a longer recovery. Following microblading, it is important to follow your brow artist’s aftercare instructions. Microblading aftercare includes using an aftercare ointment and/or hydrating balm, avoiding excessive sweating, sun exposure, and certain skincare products in the eyebrow area. It’s also important to keep the area clean and moisturized to promote proper healing.

Longer lasting results of micro blading.
Longer lasting results of micro blading.

What are the Pros and Cons of Microblading Treatment?

Microblading is an extremely effective treatment for those looking for natural looking eyebrows and longer-lasting results. While there are some very real benefits to microblading, including less touch ups, there are also some drawbacks. It’s important to be aware of both before making the decision to undergo this treatment.

Pros of Microblading

Long lifespan: Microblading can last up to 18 months or more, while henna brows typically lasts up to six weeks.

Natural-looking: Microblading creates the illusion of natural brow hairs.  The hair-like strokes created with microblading are very precise and realistic.

Works for thin or sparse brows: Microblading can help create the appearance of fuller, thicker eyebrows, even if you have very thin or sparse brows. Henna tinting  may not be suitable for people with oily skin.

More precise: Microblading is a more precise technique than henna brows since it involves creating semi-permanent individual hair-like strokes. This allows the brow artist to create a more customized and natural-looking shape for your eyebrows.

Low maintenance: Once the healing process is complete, microbladed eyebrows require little to no maintenance.

Cons of Microblading

While microblading is a popular eyebrow enhancement technique, there are some potential cons to consider when comparing it to henna brows. Here are some of the cons of microblading:

More expensive: Microblading is generally more costly than henna brows because the procedure requires more skill, specialized equipment, and a longer time commitment from the brow artist.

More invasive: Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique that involves making small incisions in the skin. This makes it more invasive than non-invasive henna tinting.

Longer healing time: Microblading requires a longer healing time than henna brows.  It can take up to two weeks for the skin to fully heal, during which time the client must avoid certain activities and products to prevent irritation or infection.

More permanent/more of a commitment: While microblading is only semi-permanent, it is still a more permanent solution than henna tinting , which also means that if you change your mind about the shape or style of your brows, it may be difficult to make any changes once the procedure is complete.

Higher risk of infection: As with any tattooing procedure, microblading carries the risk of infection in the treated area if proper protocols are not followed. This is why it’s critical to choose a reputable and experienced practice to avoid this risk.

Henna Brows vs. Microblading, Which Treatment is Right for Me?

Henna brows and microblading are both highly effective brow enhancement trends that have been experiencing rising popularity in recent years. Choosing a henna brow treatment or microblading is a personal choice that should be made only after conducting some of your own research and exploration.

If you’re like most people and you crave bushy, thick, instagramable brows, but you’re sick and tired of taking so much time during your morning DIY brow makeup ritual to mimic them, you’re probably ready for professional help. The truth is, having any professional brow treatment, whether it’s henna brows, micro blading, or brow lamination, will allow you to take that time and use it to be more productive, less rushed, and enjoy life.

Just imagine eliminating the time it takes to outline your brows, apply wax, use a pen or pencil, and do whatever else you do during your morning brow routine and using that time to earn more money, play with your dog, or stop for coffee on your way to work. Basically, professional brow treatments can pay for themselves when you do a little math!

If you’re looking to enhance your looks and save time in the morning, both henna brows and microblading are great options. The choice between the two depends on preferences, goals, and budget.

An exciting new brow trend, laminated brows are neatly-polished, bushy, thick brows, becoming as convenient and affordable as beautifully styled hair, are becoming more accessible in Australia everyday. From trimming and tidying to completely transforming, creating the beautiful frame to your face you’ve always wished for is simple, painless, and readily available.

If you’re new to the world of brow enhancement all together or if you’re just wondering about the possible side effects of brow lamination, you’ve come to the right place. In this article we’ll talk about what to expect during a brow lamination appointment; the risks, benefits, and side effects of this treatment; as well as what, if any, its effects on sensitive skin may be. A non-invasive brow smoothing treatment, brow lamination softens and repositions the natural brow hairs to create a fuller and smoother, yet natural look with minimal post-service maintenance.

A salon technique similar to a lash lift, some people compare laminated eyebrows to a hair gel for the eyebrows that doesn’t leave behind a residue or wash off. A similar effect to DIY brow lamination or brow soap, the process involves using a styling cream that allows brushed up brows to be swept into a uniform direction and create a desired shape, making unruly brows growing in different directions appear neat and sparse areas look full for several weeks. Lamination can make your brows look bushy, cover up gaps, and reduce the appearance of thinning.

How does brow lamination work?

Brow lamination is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment, performed by a brow expert, that involves applying a chemical solution to the natural brows to reshape the brow area and setting the eyebrow hairs in an upward position to create a fuller appearance and a laminated effect. Similar to a lash lift, brow lamination permanently sets the brow hairs, and ultimately reimages the frame of your face.

Brow lamination works by chemically breaking down the bonds in the eyebrow hairs, allowing them to be reshaped and set in a uniform direction.

It’s worth noting that brow lamination is not suitable for everyone, and it’s important to consult with a trained brow expert before undergoing the treatment.

What happens during brow lamination?

The brow lamination process (also referred to as brow shaping or brow lifting) is a chemical process for the brow hair which reshapes the brow, creating a more desirable face shape. Brow lamination involves lifting and rearranging the natural hairs by using a perm solution that sets brow hairs upwards.

If you’ve had other brow treatments, it’s best to wait 4 to 6 weeks before getting your brows laminated for the best results. Even if you think you don’t have enough hair, don’t worry! The more natural your brow hairs are, the better because a blank canvas allows brow artists to create masterpieces.

What to expect during your brow lamination appointment

  1. The bonds in your brow hairs are broken with a fixing solution applied onto clean eyebrows.
  2. The brow artist then brushes and straightens the hairs into the desired position.
  3. The solution is covered with plastic wrap. How long the solution stays on depends on the thickness of the client’s natural brow hair.
  4. A setting solution can be used for repositioning hair bonds to a new shape.
  5. The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

First of all, what is eyebrow lamination?

Thanks to a fabulous new brow lamination treatment, impeccably styled eyebrows are just as attainable as beautiful designed hair. While many people describe it as a brow hair perm, (similar to soap brows and a lash lift) brow lamination is a non-invasive and pain free brow enhancement treatment that will do everything from trim and tidy your brows to completely transform them, creating the beautiful face frame you’ve always dreamed of, is simple, painless, and affordable.

If you’ve never heard of brow lamination, this article is for you! Brow lamination is an eyebrow treatment  that softens and repositions your natural brow hairs to create a fuller, thicker, smoother, and natural look with very little maintenance required.

What To Expect During a Brow Lamination Treatment

The whole brow lamination process, which takes around 40-50 min, begins with the brow stylist cleaning the eyebrows. Similar to a brow perm, brow lamination is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment, performed by a brow expert, that involves applying a chemical solution to the natural brows to reshape the brow area and setting the eyebrow hairs in an upward position. Similar to a lash lift, brow lamination permanently sets the brow hairs, and ultimately reimages the frame of your face.

By chemically breaking down the bonds in the eyebrow hairs, allowing them to be reshaped and set in a new direction, brow lamination leave the brows looking fuller, with a more defined shape that lasts for up to 8 weeks. The process is painless and typically takes less than an hour.

It’s worth noting that brow lamination is not suitable for everyone, and it’s important to consult with a trained brow expert before undergoing the treatment.

Does brow lamination hurt?

Brow lamination is a non-invasive procedure that, unlike micro blading, is completely pain free.

How do I keep my brows in shape after brow lamination?

Steps to Follow Before and After Eyebrow Lamination Appointment

Now that you’ve made the decision to have your natural brows laminated, the next important step is to maintain them. To maintain beautifully laminated brows, following the correct aftercare is critical. Our easy-to-follow brow lamination before and aftercare tips will ensure that you get the very best results everytime, and that your brows remain fluffy and full for as long as possible.

As a part of your eyebrow lamination aftercare, it is crucial that you:

  • Avoid getting the brow area wet for 24 hours.

  • Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools for the first 48 hours

  • Avoiding excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hours.

We also recommend that you follow these guidelines in the run up to and the days after your treatment:

  • Avoid using exfoliating (AHA, BHA, or scrubs) and anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for three days before and after your treatment.

  • Avoid self-tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days before or after your treatment as it can discolour the eyebrow tint.

  • Your stylist may apply some make up at the end of your treatment, however you should avoid applying any further heavy make up (foundations, etc) on the area around the brow for 24 hours.

Brow Lamination Before Care

Prior to your brow lamination appointment, we recommend that you follow these steps:

  • Avoiding exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs on your face for at least a week prior to your brow lamination treatment.

  • After brow lamination, avoid tweezing for at least one week before your appointment.

  • Arrive at your appointment without any makeup on your eyes or face.

Brow Lamination Aftercare

For the first 24 hours after your brow lamination treatment:

DON’T get your eyebrows wet (this includes bathing, showering, washing your face swimming, sweating, and any other activity that involves water.)

DON’T use a sauna.

DON’T use oil based products.

DON’T apply heavy creams, makeup, or makeup remover to your brows.

DON’T lay directly on your brows or sleep on your stomach.

Why it’s important not to get your brows wet after eyebrow lamination treatment

Probably the most important thing after brow lamination is not to get your eyebrows wet. Similar to a lash lift, keeping your brows dry for the 24 hours following your lamination treatment is very important. During the lamination process, we use an assortment of creams as well as a permanent gel to relax and shape your brows. If you get your eyebrows wet too soon after we finish applying these products, your brows do not have a chance to set with their new shape.

The main reason you must not get your brows wet within 24 hours of your treatment is that contact of water can affect the lamination procedure and affect the durability of the treated surface. In addition to avoiding washing your face, you should also refrain from swimming, taking a sauna, or entering a steam bath for the first full day following treatment.

How long does a brow lamination last?

A brow lamination will last about 6 to 8 weeks, provided that the appropriate aftercare steps are taken. The length of of tie your laminated brows will last can range from 3 to 8 weeks, depending on your growth pattern. Be sure to follow the “DON’TS” mentioned above for the first 24 hours following your treatment for longevity sake. In the 48 hours following your treatment, we do suggest applying a hydrating balm or a castor oil to your brows daily. We also recommend brushing your brows in an upright/styled position anytime following a shower (or after getting your brows wet) to help keep their new shape.

Can I wear makeup after brow lamination?

Though your brow stylist may use makeup during the procedure, we strongly advise that you avoid applying heavy makeup around the brows for at least 24 hours.

How to maintain brow lamination results

A few aftercare steps and a simple maintenance treatment will help keep your brows looking in their desired position for 6 to 8 weeks following the lamination process.

Aftercare tips to follow in the first 24 hours after your treatment

Avoid sleeping face down

If you normally sleep on your side or face down, it’s best to sleep on your back for the first couple of days.

Avoid excessive touching

Resist the temptation to touch your eyebrows or rub your eyes following brow lamination treatment.

Do your best not to get your brows wet

It’s important not to let your beautiful new brows be exposed to water or any any type of moisture as it could interfere with the chemicals used and lesses the longevity of your treatment.

Bushy brows trending in 2023.

It’s highly recommended that you avoid swimming pools and baths for at least 24 hours and be extra careful when showering and washing your face. Do not bathe, shower, or wash your eye area for the first 24 hours following treatment.

To avoid getting your brows wet and maintain your new beautiful brows, we suggest that you book your appointment on a day that you don’t have to worry about applying makeup. Because  it’s a good idea to avoid sweating, we’re giving you a free pass to take the day off from working out.

Avoid steam rooms

Just like getting brows wet, the excessive moisture in the steam room can prevent your newly laminated brows from keeping their new shape.

Avoid swimming pools

Not only do you want to prevent your newly laminated brows wet, but the chloride in the pool can cause irritation.

Don’t Use Harsh Chemicals

To avoid skin irritation, do not use certain skincare products and sunscreens that contain harsh chemicals for the first 24 hours after your treatment. Because your hair follicle has been opened, the use of toxic substances can cause a skin irritation.

Avoid using makeup after brow lamination treatment

Though your stylist may add a make-over to your treatment, we recommend that you avoid using makeup on your brows for 24 hours.

Avoid sun exposure for up the 72 hours

This includes natural direct sunlight and tanning beds.

Can you use skincare products after brow lamination?

During the first 24 hours after treatment, you should avid applying any skincare products around the eye area.

Stay away from anti-ageing products around your brows as well for 72 hours following the procedure. Exfoliating facial cleansers and scrubs should also be avoided.

Can you wear makeup after brow lamination?

For the first 24 hours following treatment, we suggest that you avoid applying heavy makeup around the brow area. This includes products like foundation, primer, and concealer as applying additional products during this initial period may cause skin irritation, rash, spots or bumps.

How to care for brows following brow lamination treatment

Eyebrow lamination is a semi-permanent procedure using chemicals that break down the bond within the hair of the eyebrow and makes it possible to manipulate brow hairs. Applying a brow conditioner or conditioning serum can help the results last longer and help to keep brows shiny and looking polished and neat.

How long do laminated brows last?

When properly maintained, your newly laminated brows can last from 6 to 8 weeks, but to maintain the best results, your brow stylist will show you how to use a spoolie brush to properly brush your brows if needed. Brow lamination will last longer if you do not apply additional brow tint or other brow lamination products.

We’re in the thick of a bushier, fluffier, and fuller eyebrow craze right now. A look that first gained in popularity in the 40s when Joan Crawford’s bold brows popped on the movie screen and again in the 80s when Brooke Shields made the-thicker-is-better eyebrow look popular, full, fluffy, fabulous brows are having their moment in the sun.

Brows define the face like no other feature so it’s no surprise that a new treatment that’s making beautiful brows more accessible is raising a few brows.

One of most sought-after treatments in Australia, brow lamination is one of the most popular beauty trends of 2023. If you’ve ever wondered how much it costs to get professional laminated brows, it’s probably a lot more affordable than you might think. Read on to find out more!

Bushy eyebrows

Book Your Appointment Today!

What Is Eyebrow Lamination?

Eyebrow lamination is a completely non invasive, semi-permanent eyebrow makeup enhancement procedure that works to polish unruly brows, make sparse brows look thick, and thinning hair in the brow area look fluffy and bushy. A great alternative to the more expensive micro blading, brow lamination is completely painless. It straightens curling hairs and repositions the brow to the highest point, giving them a unique shape and texture, leaving you with thicker eyebrows and smoother skin beneath.

How does Brow Lamination Work?

Brow lamination may be a good fit for you if you want beautiful new brows and are tired of using eyebrow makeup every day.

  1. Using an eyebrow lifter cream to remove any stray or sagging hairs, the technician brushes and straighten hairs using tweezers or a spooly.

  2. A fixing solution is applied to clean eyebrows.

  3. Brows are brushed upward and straightened into the desired position.

  4. Next, the hair is treated with a keratin formula similar to that used to relax curly hair.

  5. A setting solution is applied to restructure the brow hairs.

  6.  The solution is covered with plastic wrap.

  7. A setting solution is used to reposition the hair bonds into a new shape.

  8. Once all treatments have been completed, the  eyebrows area is then treated with a nourishing serum to soothe the skin.

What Do Laminated Brows Look Like?

Brow lamination is the process of straightening and lifting  eyebrow hairs using a chemical solution to create a bushier look and precise shape. An alternative to more expensive treatments like  microblading, laminated brows involve a non-invasive process that is affordable, simple, and painless. The result is a smooth, shiny and a well-defined finish that will last for up to 8 weeks.

Before and after brow lamination.

No longer will you have to spend hundreds of dollars eyebrow makeup as brow lamination is a one-and-done process that once complete, requires very little to no maintenance. While the price for an eyebrow lamination is more than a basic wax, the resulting elevated look  not only reduces the money spent on brow makeup, but the time you’ll save not having to style brows yourself every morning makes  it a smart investment.

Laminated brows are straighter, bushier, and thicker, while at the same time, smooth, polished, professional and perfectly shaped.

The entire process takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

How long do laminated brows last?

Your newly polished, brushed-up brow look will last from 6 to 8 weeks, but to maintain the nest results, your brow stylist will show you how to use a spoolie to properly brush your brows if needed.

Pro tip: Use an interdental brush instead of our normal brow bush. The thin hairs on this dental tool make combing your brow hair easier. It also helps to prevent any residue from getting into your eyes.

For more information about the service itself, check out our blog post, The Eyes Have It: 9 Things You Should Know Before Your First Brow Lamination Treatment that covers brow lamination from A to Z.

What Does Brow Lamination Aftercare Look Like?

After your brow lamination appointment, there are some dos and don’ts to follow during the first 24 hours.

  • DON’T: Touch or rub your eyebrows.

  • DON’T: Get your brows wet—this includes showers, baths, swimming pools, and steam rooms.

  • DON’T: Lie face down while sleeping.

  • DON’T: Engage in activities that make you sweat (IOW, you have permission NOT to go to the gym that day!)

When it comes to wearing makeup after a brow lamination,  we recommend refraining from wearing makeup, especially on and very close to your brows, for the first 24 hours as well. This also includes any skincare products like masks, serums, creams, or self-tanning products. After the first day,  you can go back to applying makeup and skincare products and return to your normal routine. It’s that simple!

To avoid getting your brows wet, we suggest that you book your appointment on a day that you can stay at home and relax.

Can brow lamination be done at home?

Though there are techniques like using different types of gels, pomades, and brow pens and the soap method to create feathered looking brows at home, none of those methods offer the precise, smooth, and perfectly polished  long term results as professional lamination.

Soap brows can be a simple alternative for eyebrow lamination, but it only works if you already have thick brows and the technique only lasts a day. While it might seem tempting to go the cheaper DIY route,, in the long run, all of those home remedies prove to be more expensive and the only thing that will end up looking fuller will be your makeup case.

How long does brow lamination last?

How many days do eyebrows need lamination depending on hair growth? Your eyebrows and brows have an old-growth cycle where old hair is shedding and new hair comes through. It takes 30 days for a typical person’s hair to grow and this will allow brows lamination to last for three to eight weeks. For most clients, the lamination should last up to eight weeks.

Ready for fuller, fluffier, and more beautiful brows? Book online today!

What is the cost of Brow Lamination?

Compared to other brow procedures, brow lamination is extremely affordable. This is likely because the process involves little time and materials.

The average cost of eyebrow lamination ranges between $50 and $100 per session, depending on the size and material used. The same way hair cuts and prices are different at every salon, the same is true for beautiful brows. Brow treatments are generally more costly in large cities.

What Do Laminated Brows Look Like?

There are many popular brow treatments these days, each with its one set of pros and cons. An alternative to more expensive treatments like microblading, laminated brows involve a non-invasive process that is affordable, simple, and painless. The result is a smooth, shiny and a well-defined finish that will last for up to 8 weeks.

No longer will you have to lay out hundreds of dollars every year on brow pens, pencils, and pomades as brow lamination is a one-and-done process that once complete, requires very little to no maintenance. While the price for an eyebrow lamination can range from $50 to $150, more than a basic wax, the resulting elevated look  not only reduces the money spent on products, but the time you’ll save not having to style your brows yourself each morning makes  it a wise investment.

Laminated brows look straighter, bushier, and thicker, while at the same time, smooth, polished, professional and perfectly shaped.  Creating a precise edge, the brow stylist shapes and sets the brow into a permanently defined arch, leaving the brows looking well-manicured and perfect every morning with little to no effort whatsoever.

Before and after brow lamination.

How Does Brow Lamination Work?

Brow lamination is a chemical process with several steps involved.

  1. To start, the brow expert uses an eyebrow lifter to remove any stray hairs and comb them in the right direction.

  2. The technician can also straighten hairs using tweezers or a spooly. A fixing solution is applied to clean eyebrows.

  3. The brow artist brushes and straightens the hair follicles into the desired position.

  4. Next, the hair is treated with a keratin formula similar to that used to relax curly hair.

  5. A setting solution is then used to restructure the brow hairs.

  6.  The solution is covered with plastic wrap. How long the solution stays on depends on the thickness of the client’s natural brow hair.

  7. A setting solution is used to reposition the hair bonds into a desired shape.

  8. Once all treatments have been completed, the brow area is then treated with a nourishing oil to soothe sensitive skin.

The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

How long laminated brows last depends on your hair cycle. For most clients, the lamination should last up to eight weeks.

What does brow lamination look like?

The brow lamination procedure varies slightly from person to person, depending on an individual’s natural brow color, thickness, and texture, as well as the person’s desired shape and overall look. Normally, however, it involves the following common steps:

  1. A brow technician will generally start by performing a patch test to check for any allergies, skin conditions, and sensitivities to the keratin-infused straightening cream.

  2. If the patch test reveals no skin irritation caused by the solution, the technician will begin the procedure. The first step is to clean the brows and the area around the eyebrows, mark the shape that suits the client’s face shape best and possibly remove any stray hairs.

  3. The brow expert then applies the lifting cream onto the brows with an applicator. This cream works by breaking the hair bond and relaxing the hair follicle. This prepares the brow hairs to be manipulated and sculpted into their new shape.

  4. After the application, the brow hairs will be brushed up in a uniform vertical direction.

  5. Next, the area is covered with plastic wrap and allowed to sit for several minutes. Setting time varies depending on a person’s brow texture and thickness.

  6. The brow technician will then remove the lotion and apply a second solution to set the hair in its new place. This is followed by another application of plastic wrap, which will remain for several more minutes.

  7. Once the brows are set, the technician will remove the plastic wrap and all traces of the products.

  8. Finally, a nourishing oil or serum is applied to replenish the eyebrow hair’s natural moisture and condition.

The eyebrows are the frame to the face, but like a beautiful painting, the final masterpiece is only complete when all of the elements come together as one. No matter how much time and effort you put into your skincare and makeup routine, if your brows aren’t right, you just can’t achieve the pretty picture you desire. And we know, that’s a real pain!

Brow Lamination, a Game Changer

Unfortunately, most of us are not born with the thick, full, neat, and flawless brows that perfectly frame our face. So, we tint, brush, pluck, wax, and apply endless amounts of makeup to compensate. The makeup shelves are filled with an abundance of brow pencils, pens, gels, and powders that claim to create the perfect brow but if you’re like most people, achieving the desired results seems almost impossible. No matter how many YouTube tutorials you watch, does it seems like the only thing you’re achieving is a beautiful (and expensive) makeup collection?

Brow lamination has come along to change all of that for once and for all. The finishing touch, brow lamination will help you to achieve the desired appearance you’ve always dreamed of with no need for massive makeup piles, time-wasting waxing, or painful plucking. Finally, the days of sadly sparse, overly made-up, and thoroughly thin brows are in the past.

Making a name for itself all over the covers of the leading beauty magazines, thicker, fluffier, and bushier brows are having a moment, as celebrities and influencers boast their brushed brow looks across social media.

From micro needling, threading, and tattooing to tinting, perming, and blading, there are brow treatments for every budget, face shape, and skin tone.

But with so many eyebrow treatments to choose from, deciding which one is right for your eyebrows can be tricky—until now.

These days, it seems that every beauty editor on earth is zoning in on one brow treatment. Brow lamination has risen above the other brow treatments as one of the most trending brow treatments of the day. Painless, safe, affordable, and effective, brow lamination is in the spotlight, the rising star in the world of brow beauty. Celebrities and beauty gurus are all posting pix of their newly laminated brow looks across the internet. And the good news is, in 2023, it’s now available to you!

How does brow lamination work?

Brow lamination is an innovative, affordable, and painless treatment that is now easily accessible, making impeccably styled eyebrow just as attainable as beautifully styled hair.

Brow lamination, sometimes referred to as a brow perm, is a completely non-invasive in-office treatment  that softens, repositions, and sets your natural brow hairs to create a fuller and smoother, yet natural look with minimal post-service maintenance.

Unlike microblading, which requires a few weeks of recovery time, you’ll see the results of your brow lamination almost immediately, with just one day of aftercare involved. Similar to a lash lift, brow lamination permanently sets the brow hairs, and ultimately reimagines the frame of the face.

How long does brow lamination last?

Is brow lamination safe?

Safe for all hair types and those with sensitive skin, an eyebrow lamination treatment involves setting brow hairs upwards. With no cutting or injections involved, an eyebrow lamination procedure is as simple as a straightening or perm treatment to the hair. Like a lash lift, brow lamination tames, softens, and straightens eyebrow hairs; adds more volume, helps to cover gaps, and creates a new shape to the brow.

A highly experienced and well-trained brow technician will start by performing a patch test on the eye area to make sure there will be minimal skin irritation. While a slight tingling sensation is normal, laminated brows are gentle on the skin beneath the brow area. During the brow lamination process, a gentle keratin formula, consisting of omega 3’s, vitamin E, vitamin C, antioxidants, silica, and antimicrobials, is infused into the brow hairs. The hairs are then brushed and precisely set into place with a brow brush to achieve a well-groomed desired look.

Not only will brow lamination will help you to shave valuable time from your already busy morning routine, this treatment will leave you looking more polished, professional, and lovelier than ever with minimal effort and zero pain.

If your goal is to finally have tamer, neater-looking, flawlessly neat brows that are fuller, thicker, and fluffier than ever, then brow lamination is for you.

The eyebrows are the frames of the face, and you have genetics to blame if yours don’t create a masterpiece. For as long as women have been turning to beauty treatments and applying makeup, the only way to alter the shape of the eyebrow was to use dangerous wax, painful tweezers or awkward mini shavers.

And to make matters worse,  as we age and our eyesight begins to fade, so does the amount of natural brow hairs, leaving you with sparse brows, thin brows, and stray hairs—making the perfect pluck nearly impossible.

Every generation has had its brow trends. From the over-plucked tadpole brows of the 90s to the barely there brows of the 50s, brow style in 2023 is all about thick, fluffy, straight, an bold.

This new and increasingly popular brow trend, called brow lamination and it’s raising eyebrows all over social media. As celebs and influencers turn to brow lamination for fuller looking brows that create a desired face shape or control unruly brows, it’s now possible for you to achieve the desired look in less than an hour.

What is brow lamination?

Thanks to an innovative new brow lamination treatment that is easily accessible in 2023, impeccably styled eyebrows are just as attainable as beautiful designed hair. Treatments that will do everything for you from trim and tidy your brows to complete transforming them, creating the beautiful face frame you’ve always dreamed of, is simple, painless, and affordable.

If you’re a newbie to the world of brow lamination, have no fear! We’ve got you covered. Brow lamination is a non-invasive brow treatment  that softens, repositions, and sets your natural brow hairs to create a fuller and smoother, yet natural look with minimal post-service maintenance.

How does brow lamination work?

Similar to a brow perm, brow lamination is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment, performed by a brow expert, that involves applying a chemical solution to the natural brows to reshape the brow area and setting the eyebrow hairs in an upward position. Similar to a lash lift, brow lamination permanently sets the brow hairs, and ultimately reimages the frame of your face.

Brow lamination works by chemically breaking down the bonds in the eyebrow hairs, allowing them to be reshaped and set in a new direction.

The result is a fuller, more defined brow shape that lasts for up to eight weeks. The process is painless and typically takes around 30-45 minutes to complete.

  1. Your brow hair bonds will first be broken down with the application of a fixing solution.
  2. The brow artist then brushes and straightens the hairs into the desired position.
  3. The solution is covered with plastic wrap. How long the solution stays on depends on the thickness of client’s natural brow hair.
  4. A setting solution can be used for re-positioning hair bonds to a new shape.
  5. The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
